The YMCA’s areas of focus are youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. YBike supports all three of these areas of focus as we help kids and families get active, collectively reduce emissions and traffic, and create opportunities for youth leadership and team work. James Cary Smith Community Grant Program

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has now formally opened the application period for the James Cary Smith Community Grant Program for fiscal year 2016. Grants of up to $25,000 are available for non-profit organizations, community-based organizations, or school-sponsored groups. The grant application deadline is Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at 5:00pm. Success Story: After Class Enrichment Summer Camp

Tell us about your program and its audience.

Our camp is called After Class Enrichment (ACE) Summer Camp and has been running for three years. Our program receives 21st Century Community Learning Centers funding from the U.S. Department of Education for a five week summer camp. Kids can take classes in sports, digital arts, swimming, cooking, crime scene investigation (CSI) and bike safety. Between 10-15 middle school students take the bike safety course each week.
